Blue Bus Blues Barn Dance

barn dance facebook event

Now that the dust we all kicked up from our cowboy boots has settled we would like to begin to thank everyone who participated in our Blue Bus Blues Event! First, we would like to acknowledge Tiger Lily Farms for supporting this event year after year by not only donating use of the riding ring but also helping with our food services at the event. In addition to all of that they also generously donated a full year access family pass valued at $160.00 for the silent auction. We are so grateful for the support we receive from you each year. Thank you from the BLT Team!

We would like to give a big shout out to the OBLT Board, Staff and Volunteers who all put in so much of their time and effort to make this event a success. It wouldn’t be possible without you! Thank you!

Next, we’d like to thank all our performers. They came from far and wide to help create the perfect sound for a barn dance! The Apollos, Blue Dog Ramble, The Sand Dollar Dancers (who also helped teach us all the two step), Kathryn Paektau, Nick Peters, Heidi Abbott and our own Judi Malcolm. Thank you!

This next thank you is a big one and we are so lucky that it is this big. It shows the generosity of our community and how much support we truly do have! This gratitude post goes out to all the people and businesses who donated to our silent auction: Tigh-Na-Mara Seaside Spa Resort & Conference Centre, Gondas Studio for Hair, Arrowsmith Golf & Micky J’s Bar & Grill, Alcove Homegrown Living, Wilde and Sparrow, Tiger Lily Farm, Airhouse (Nanaimo), Arrowsmith Bikes-Parksville, Milner Gardens & Woodland, Paradise Adventure Mini Golf & Bumper Boats, Romper Room Indoor Rock Climbing Centre, Riptide Lagoon Adventure Golf, Pheasant Glen Golf Resort, Oceanside Mobile Mechanix, Sunset Lanes, The MAC – McMillan Arts Centre, Little Qualicum Cheeseworks and MooBerry Winery, Rachels Esthetics, Olive This and More, Cha Cha Java Inc., Starbucks, Helen Wagg, Cultivate Garden & Gift, Qualicum Beach Pharmasave, Covet in Qualicum, The Mulberry Bush Bookstore, Englishman Interiors, Deb Mitchell, Impulse apparel & accessories, Shelly, Creekmore’s Coffee, Bosleys in Parksville, Skookum Prints, Carrie Reid, Robyn & Tom Hoefle, Aebig Acres, Purple Essentials, High Road Clothing, What’s Cooking -The Store for Cooks, Robert Held Art Glass, Very Mary Designs, Regional District of Nanaimo, Cheryl Clark, Ruff N Stuff Dog Care, Judi Malcolm, Rcubed, The Nurture Collective and last but not least Trish Marion. This event wouldn’t be a barn dance without some good ol’ comfort food! Here’s a big thank you to all of our food and food service donors! Lefty’s and the amazing vegetarian and beef chili they provide year after year, Tim Hortons for the coffee, donuts and extra fixing’s like sugar and cream, Terry Kinch @ Create a Cake for that beautiful blue bus cake we all devoured rather quickly, the homemade buttercream was a hit among us all at BLT! The corn from Silver Meadows was the perfect companion to chili and was great to enjoy as the evening cooled down. Thank you to Five Star Wholesale for the tableware!

Thank you to everyone who came out and participated in the dancing, auction and games! We hope to see you all next year!

With love,

The BLT Team
